Tours - The true nature of Sian Ka’an

Réserve Sian Kaan

Declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1986, Sian Ka’an (where the sky is born) extends over half-a-million hectares. The area covers three different habitats of the eastern Yucatan Peninsula: the tall jungle, the mangrove (with 4 types of trees), and of course the gorgeous coastal zone with its perfect white sand beaches off the Caribbean Sea.
We begin our day with a trip to the little fisherman village of Punta Allen, via a dirt road that winds through the jungle, we will meet our boat for a ride through the mangrove. The mangrove is filled with a huge variety of birds. As the mangrove widens to the seas, we will get a chance to visit with dolphins, sea turtles and manatees.
One final stop, on a heavenly, secluded beach, before we head back to the village where we will enjoy a delicious lunch served in a tiny seaside restaurant.
This day is a fantastic adventure in the heart of the protected nature of Quintana Roo.
